Laboratory Analyst, Microbiologist | Rimouski

H2Lab is currently seeking a Microbiologist for its Rimouski location. Reporting to the Director of the Microbiology Laboratory, the selected candidate will perform tasks related to standardized analytical testing. 

Role Definition 

Responsible for validating and approving analytical results, technical reports, and quality control batches in compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform laboratory analyses in accordance with established methods, guidelines, and instructions; 

• Strictly apply analytical methods and work instructions; 

• Prepare and approve analytical reports; 

• Participate in the development and optimization of methods and processes; 

• Ensure compliance with the company’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) rules; 

• Act as a resource person for technical staff. 

Qualifications 

• University degree in Microbiology or Biology with a specialization in Microbiology (required); 

• Two (2) years of experience in a microbiology laboratory (required); 

• One (1) year of relevant experience in an environmental microbiology laboratory (required). 

Skills and Abilities 

• Attention to detail, precision, and strong sense of responsibility; 

• Planning, organization, and autonomy; 

• Proficiency in spoken and written French (required); 

• Proficiency in spoken and written English (an asset). 

Position Details 

• Full-time, permanent position; 

• On-site work; 

• Flexible schedule; 

• 35 to 40 hours per week depending on the season and operational needs (day shift).
