Laboratory Analyst, Chemist | Rimouski

Role Definition

Responsible for performing laboratory analyses and ensuring the validation and approval of analytical results, technical reports, and production batches in compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analyses in accordance with established methods, guidelines, and instrumentation;
• Strictly apply analysis protocols and work instructions;
• Prepare and approve analytical reports;
• Participate in the development and optimization of analytical methods and processes;
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) rules;
• Act as a resource person for technical staff.

Minimum External Education

• University degree recognized by the Ordre des chimistes du Québec (required).

Minimum Experience

• Two (2) years of experience in a chemistry laboratory (required);
• Relevant experience in an environmental analysis laboratory (an asset).

Skills and Abilities

• Attention to detail, precision, and strong sense of responsibility;
• Planning, organization, and autonomy;
• Proficiency in spoken and written French (required);
• Proficiency in spoken and written English (an asset).

Position Details

• Full-time, permanent position;
• On-site work;
• Flexible schedule;
• 32 to 40 hours per week depending on the season (day shift).
