Logistics Assistant
Rouyn-Noranda
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Assistant oversees:
Shipping
- Efficiently coordinate internal and external subcontractor shipping activities.
- Search for subcontractors in collaboration with the manager.
- Work closely with customer service to identify order and subcontracting needs.
- Coordinate and participate in the order preparation and shipment (containers, coolers, forms) according to requests received by customer service.
- Monitor shipped packages and notify customer service of any anomalies.
- Maintain efficient shipping activities and propose solutions for improvement to the manager.
- Optimize department practices to improve efficiency and reduce risk of error.
Receiving
- Coordinate and participate in sample reception.
- Work closely with customer service to ensure proper sample management (express, communication with customer, customer needs, etc.).
- Work closely with laboratories to ensure optimal workflow.
- Monitor the integrity of samples received and notify the department of any anomalies.
- Coordinate the logistics of sample management from receipt to arrival at the processing laboratory, as efficiently as possible for all departments and in accordance with H2Lab standards.
- Determine and optimize sample collection routes and monitor operators.
- Ensure the efficient operation of collection, reception, data entry and validation activities, and propose improvement solutions to the manager.
- Improve department practices and implement measures to decrease potential errors and improve performance.
Management
- Manage, guide, mobilize and train staff under his/her responsibility.
- Ensure the proper functioning of branch logistics operations at all times.
- Apply and enforce administrative, quality and management system procedures.
- Maintain standards of quality and performance within the department.
- Assess equipment and material requirements and make recommendations to management.
- Manage department-related inventories of equipment and supplies.
- Manage vehicle fleet.
- Participate, collaborate or lead development and improvement projects.
- Work closely with other departments and locations.
Terms of employment:
- 40h per week
- Permanent position

Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in team management
- Customer service skills and experience
- Knowledge of environmental analysis (Asset)
- Relevant college or university degree (Asset)
