Primary duties:

  • Prepare testing solutions and reagents.
  • Apply standardized environmental analysis techniques such as: manual and automated colorimetric methods, BOD5, COD, manual physicochemistry (pH, turbidity, etc.).
  • Carry out quality controls required for each analytical method.
  • Provide support to the microbiology laboratory (filtration, bacterial counting and identification, biochemical confirmation, etc.).
  • Enter results into LIMS database.
  • Maintain glassware and workstation;
  • Apply company OHS rules;
  • Perform all tasks required for the proper operation of the laboratory.

Qualifications required:

  • College degree in laboratory engineering

or

  • AEC Biotechnology

or

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry)

Job description:

  • Permanent

  • Approximately 32 hours/w during winter and 40 hours/w during summer (varies according to operational needs)

  • Shift work; hours may vary according to operational needs, with 1 weekend out of 2 for microbiology.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in an environmental analysis laboratory or equivalent (an asset).
