Primary duties:
- Prepare testing solutions and reagents.
- Apply standardized environmental analysis techniques such as: manual and automated colorimetric methods, BOD5, COD, manual physicochemistry (pH, turbidity, etc.).
- Carry out quality controls required for each analytical method.
- Provide support to the microbiology laboratory (filtration, bacterial counting and identification, biochemical confirmation, etc.).
- Enter results into LIMS database.
- Maintain glassware and workstation;
- Apply company OHS rules;
- Perform all tasks required for the proper operation of the laboratory.
Qualifications required:

College degree in laboratory engineering
or

AEC Biotechnology
or
-
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry)
Job description:
- Permanent
- Flexible schedule and good work-life balance
- Approximately 32 hours/w during winter and 40 hours/w during summer (varies according to operational needs)
- Benefits (group insurance, RRSP, flexible days, health spending account) after 3 months of employment
- Shift work; hours may vary according to operational needs, with 1 weekend out of 2 for microbiology.
Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year experience in an environmental analysis laboratory or equivalent (an asset).
